I think this was the first large show I designed scenery and lighting for and one of the earlier times I designed lighting. Most of these photographs show scenes illuminated mostly with incandescent lightbulbs and one of them shows a hidden red fluorescent tube. The final image, which features Grant Heslov, shows a rather brazen use of Christian Boltanski’s work. The second to last image shows a slide of the syphilis cell, one of many projections in the show. I seem to recall the director and I went to UCLA to look at medical slides and stole some of them to use in the show.
